Wales' world cup journey starts at Deri community centre!
For the first time in 64 years Wales qualified for the football world cup... we thought this would be a perfect time for Fan Club community event!
Wales v USA, November 21st 2022, Deri Community Centre
On Monday November 21st 2022, Wales played their first match in a World Cup in 64 years against the USA. We decided that this would be a great opportunity to organise a special event for our Octopus Fan Club members and the local community.
The event involved games, food, drinks and of course the match! We also had a special visit from Cardiff rugby players Ellis Jenkins and Matthew Morgan who stuck around to take some selfies, sign autographs and chat with 'Fans'.
We had some big winners with our 'Spin the Wheel' game with Kate and Natasha both bagging themselves £50 credit on their Octopus Energy account. We've also planted 13 trees in name of all of those who won this prize on the wheel.
With the score 1-0 to the USA at half time, we raffled off some Cardiff Rugby tickets to keep everyones spirits high. Jake & Rostyn we hope you enjoy your selected games!
Thankfully, Gareth Bale executed the perfect penalty to ensure that Wales secured 1 point in their first group match of the tournament, with the match finishing at 1 - 1.

Our spin the wheel game went down a treat with prizes such as tree planting, mini Constantine's, credit on your energy account & more!
The Welsh Italian Pizza Company were on site with delicious pizza and drinks throughout the match!
